Bicycling
The region around Radstadt has a lot to offer for cyclists, from family friendly routes to challenging and exhausting mountain stretches. Also mountain-bikers can savor one of the newly sign posted tracks. For instance, advanced mountain-bikers can traverse the 950 meter altitude difference to the top of the Roßbrand in beautiful surroundings. Current maps are available at the tourist office.
The legendary Amadé-bike-marathon with its start and finish in Radstadt attracts nearly 2.000 athletes each May and is a must for amateur cyclists. Date: 20.05.2012
Mountain-biking in the region
And then there are those who want to go higher, i.e. climb mountains with their mountain-bike. Of course we have plenty of suggestions for tours in the entire Salzburg Sportwelt which can be found HERE.
“Ennsradweg” - a bike path from Radstadt to the Danube
Impressive mountains, romantic valleys, roaring rivers, dreamy villages and historical cities accompany you through a unique natural backdrop along the 250 kilometer “Ennsradweg”.

The Amadé-bike-marathon
With its 98 and 180 kilometers the Amadé-bike-marathon, which is adapted to the early season, is a challenge for both experienced cyclists as well as marathon first-timers. The most difficult climb is at the very beginning, in Ramsau. With an elevation difference of 1.200 meters the highest point of the race is reached here. The A-route measures 2.490 and the B-route measures 1.400 meters of elevation difference. The race begins at the city square at 7:30 a.m. For more information visit www.radmarathon.com.
Those who aren’t focussed only on the tires of the man in front of them are in for a reward during the Amadé-bike-marathon: the wide valley floor of the Enns river, the awesome panorama of the Dachstein, the Bischofsmütze and the Tauern and the enthusiastic spectators along the way who cheer on the athletes.
