Harvest Time

When there is lots of work to be done, as in the harvest time, there is much to celebrate!

Tradition is in full swing with the Harvest Festival, the “Almabtrieb” cow-train being driven back from the alp, farmer’s markets, folk-dance festivals and various fairs. Guests are always welcome, be it as spectators or, whenever possible, as contributors! You can hike from one alpine meadow to another, take part in the traditional “Almabtrieb” and harvest festival or enjoy the golden autumn sun for a few days on Salzburg’s bike paths. The Salzburg province celebrates the Harvest Time from August 25 to October 7, 2012, with more than 2.000 events all around traditional customs and handicraft in over 80 towns.
