Arts & crafts market
Every year, one of Austria’s most important arts and crafts fairs brings crowds of curious arts and crafts enthusiasts to the ‘Old Town in the Mountains’. Around 100 craftsmen and women, designers and artists from Austria, Germany and other neighbouring countries participate in the special Radstadt market. Visitors can view and buy all kinds of sophisticated handicraft items made from a wide range of materials.
The items showcased include ceramics, jewellery, glass, felt, knitwear and embroidery, wooden bowls, boxes and holders – and lots more. The fair features items of extremely high-quality craftsmanship and artistry. For years now many of these exhibits have also been entered for inspection by a jury of experts judging creative handicrafts, modern design, innovative product design and applied art. Every year, the arts and crafts fair is also complemented by a special display held in the old round armoury tower on the evening before the market.
Original street theatre, walking acts, merry-go-round and street music all contribute towards making the market a great experience for visitors of all ages.
